First-sound velocity in the impuriton system of superfluid 3He–4He solutions

Abstract
The velocity of first-sound in 3He–4He solutions containing up to 6% 3He has been measured in the temperature range 25−165 mK. It is shown that the observed dependence of the velocity of sound on temperature and concentration can be described quite accurately by considering just the impuriton system of the solutions. The obtained experimental results are in good agreement with the kinetic theory of solutions.
