Nonlinear conductivity of thermal contacts without phonon reabsorption

Abstract

It is shown that the electron–phonon relaxation at point contacts with a small electron mean free path and ballistic phonons restrict the heating of the electron system, which leads to a peculiar voltage dependence of the point-contact spectrum.
