Abstract

The effect of an external rf and a constant magnetic field on the temperature dependence of the surface impedance of metaloxide ceramic plates based on Y- and lanthanoids has been studied experimentally in the frequency range 103−107 Hz. The peak observed in the temperature dependence of impedance is attributed to the size effect when the skin-depth δ becomes comparable with the half-thickness of the sample. A contactless method is proposed for a quick quality control of the ceramic samples and for determining the critical temperature.
