Abstract

Magnetoresistance of point contacts based on polycrystalline PrNi5 is measured and a new method is proposed for determining the constriction parameters (its diameter and electron mean free path). These contacts are also used for observing the Zeeman splitting of the energy levels of Pr3+ ion in PrNi5 and the processes of consecutive excitation of two Pr3+ ions by an electron in the region of the microconstriction.
