Abstract

Results of theoretical and experimental studies of binary hydrogen solutions are analyzed. It is suggested that in systems containing a considerable amount of molecules with a rotational moment J = 1, a separation of the solid solution into isomorphic phases with different rotational states of the molecules must be observed. Taking this circumstance into consideration, typical phase equilibrium diagrams are proposed for binary hydrogen systems. The p-H2-o-H2 phase diagram is used to describe the nature of high-temperature phase transformation in normal crystalline hydrogen and the phase separation in the system n-H2-n-D2.
