Abstract
The influence of a high hydrostatic pressure (up to 2.0 GPa) on the Néel temperature and the H–T phase diagram of GdBa2Cu3O7–δ) (δ ∼ 1) is studied. The value of TN is found to increase with pressure at the rate dTN/dP = 0.1 K/GPa. It is shown that the spin–flop transition field Hc1(0) is practically independent of pressure, while the spin–flip transition field Hc2(0) increases by 2.5 kOe at P = 2.0 GPa as compared to its value at P = 0. This increase is attributed to an increase in the exchange field and a decrease in the anisotropy field under a uniform compression.
