Abstract
Acoustic emission (AE) signals in a frequency range 0.1–5 MHz are observed in YBa2Cu3O7–δ ceramics in the temperature region between 40 and 280 K. In the initial cooling, AE has two spikes in the regions 230–190 and 110–60 K, while the level of AE decreases considerably during heating and subsequent temperature cycling. A correlation is observed between the temperature hysteresis of transport acoustic parameters and the AE spikes.
