Abstract
Energy intervals, g factors, and M1 amplitudes of the 6${\mathit{p}}^{2}$ configuration in Pb and the 6${\mathit{p}}^{3}$ configuration in Bi are calculated. All the corrections of second-order perturbation theory in residual electron-electron interaction are taken into account. The higher-order corrections are also investigated. In Pb we have calculated the most important corrections: the screening of external electrons interaction by closed-shell polarization. In Bi the higher-order corrections are treated semiempirically. Energy levels for a superheavy element with charge Z=114 are also calculated.
