Abstract
The results of low-temperature (T = 1.9 K) mechanical testing of solid parahydrogen samples before the appearance and after the healing of an open long crack, and also after the joining of solid surfaces formed due to fracture, are presented. It is established that the continuity and integrity of crystals is restored by holding them in contact at low and high temperatures. The possible (including low-temperature) mechanisms of self-healing of solid p-H2 are discussed.
