Abstract
The effect of photoexcited charge carriers on the two-magnon scattering spectrum of light in the ceramic YBa2Cu3O7–δ is studied. The intensity of two-magnon scattering bands is found to decrease under the action of laser radiation. Photoexcited variations in the Raman spectra are found to be long-lived, and the sample relaxes to the original state at room temperature only after about 40 h. Possible mechanisms responsible for the observed effect are discussed.
