Abstract
Low-temperature polarized Raman spectra of the quasi-one-dimensional chain antiferromagnet CsMnCl3·2H2O are studied. The fundamental vibration frequencies of the crystal in the interval 0–350 cm−1 are determined. Group theory analysis of the vibrational modes of the crystal lattice is carried out, and a partial assignment of the observed lines is made. A weak temperature-dependent asymmetric wide band is observed and attributed to the two-magnon scattering of light in CsMnCl3·2H2O.
