Abstract
The effect of anisotropic compressive strain along the principal crystallographic directions on the frequencies of high-temperature oscillations (HTO) and Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations of the magnetoresistance of bismuth single crystals is studied experimentally. The obtained results are interpreted in the framework of theoretical concepts according to which the HTO are associated with intervalley quasielastic scattering of charge carriers at the band edges.
