Abstract

The experiment on the observation of a weak circular dichroism [K. B. Lyons, J. Kwo, J. F. Dillon, Jr., et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 64, 2949 (1990)] is simulated on a computer model. One of the possibilities of the emergence of a spurious result associated with the linear dichroism of the sample is revealed and estimated quantitatively. The method of rotation of the sample or the light polarization plane during measurement of the circular dichroism in anisotropic objects is considered.
