Increase in the critical temperature of a two-band superconductor in a topological transition

Abstract

A change in the critical temperature Tc as a result of a topological transition is investigated by using the two-band model of superconductivity. It is shown that the emergence of electrons in an empty band or holes in a completely filled band is accompanied by an increase in the critical temperature. The realistic choice of the parameters of the model makes it possible to describe the nonlinear increase in the critical temperature observed in experiments in which the effect of impurities on Tc is investigated.
