Abstract
On the basis of experimental data on the temperature dependence of the dc Sondheimer oscillation amplitudes and of the doppleron amplitudes, the possible effect of a strong magnetic field on the electron–phonon coupling in cadmium has been analyzed. The found nonmonotonic temperature dependence of both the impedance and the doppleron amplitude at T ≈ 3K is not related to the Landau damping but is due to a minimum in the temperature dependence of the mean free path. This conclusion is based on a similar behavior of the amplitude of the dc Sondheimer effect.
