Abstract
The magnetic properties of the low-dimensional Ising magnet KEr(MoO4)2 are studied in the temperature interval 0.5–20 K. Measurements of temperature dependences of the principal values of magnetic susceptibility point towards a magnetic phase transition to antiferromagnetic state at Tc=0.9 K. A noncollinear four-sublattice magnetic structure is realized, the magnetic moments lie in the bc-plane and are turned relative to the b-axis through an angle of 18°. The results are described by the model of weakly interacting ferromagnetic chains. Spin-orientation transitions with a mixed state have been detected in the ordered state. Relaxation processes are investigated.
