Abstract
The behavior of a spin-density wave (SDW) in conducting salts of the family (TMTSF)2X is studied in ultrastrong magnetic fields in which fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE) is observed. It is shown that the order parameter of the SDW is proportional to the magnitude of the electron (hole) pocket on the Fermi surface and is practically independent of magnetic field over the entire width of Hall plateau. This may be the reason behind the existence of the so-called Extremely Stable State on the phase diagram of (TMTSF)2ClO4.
