Abstract

The effect of pressure up to 4 kbar on the paramagnetic susceptibility of solid solutions of Fe1−xCoxSi (0≤x≤0.7) has been studied at temperatures 78 and 293 K. The volume derivative of the effective electron interaction parameter d In I/d In V = –1.3 ± 0.15 has been determined under the Stoner paramagnetism enhancement condition, and points towards a significant role of electron correlations in this system.
