Injection thermoelectric effect in ballistic metal–insulator point-contacts

Abstract
The electron drag emerging in a metal-insulator point-contact due to the injection of ballistic phonons from the insulator is studied. The thermo-emf in a circuit formed by the point-contact “metal-conducting film-insulator” is calculated. The possibility of spectroscopy of the transmission coefficient of phonons passing through the insulator-metal boundary is analyzed.
