Abstract

High-potassium alkalic basaltic magmas characterize the Baykal-Stanovoy rift system of East Siberia, just as they do the rift systems of other continents. The association of mica-bearing kimberlites, olivine lamproites, and kamafugites with alkalic-ultramafic complexes, as well as with the whole range of alkalic gabbroids and basaltoids, suggests a mantle origin for all.
