Abstract
The nonlinear electrical conductivity of point contacts between conductors with a quasi-two-dimensional electron energy spectrum in a strong magnetic field H is investigated theoretically. It is found that the resistance and the point-contact (PC) spectra of electron–phonon interaction are extremely sensitive to the orientation of the vector H relative to the layers with a high electrical conductivity, and to the shape of the contact. It is shown that investigation of the dependence of PC spectra on the magnitude and direction of the field H provides information about the relaxation of electrons at various types of phonon excitations.
