Abstract

A damping system for protecting a setup for obtaining ultralow temperatures is described and its experimentally measured working characteristics are presented. The use of a platform suspended on ropes results in low resonance frequencies of horizontal and vertical vibrations and reduces the effect of vibrations by a factor of tens.
