Abstract

The thermo-emf and conductivity of the crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox and HoBa2Cu3Ox are studied near the superconducting transition temperature. Below the mean-field critical temperature, the temperature dependence of the thermo-emf differs sharply from that expected from the theory of fluctuations of superconducting Cooper pairs. The temperature variation of thermo-emf is also observed in the case when the resistance of the crystal is already equal to zero. This peculiarity in the behavior of thermo-emf is associated with the fluctuational contribution of pairs of 2D-magnetic vortices which are sensitive to non-isothermal conditions under which thermoelectric measurements were made.
