Abstract

The energy of dipole-dipole interaction is calculated for the rare-earth subsystem of CsGd(MoO4)2 and the magnetic structure of its ground state is determined. Temperature dependences of magnetic susceptibility and magnetic heat capacity for the paramagnetic region are calculated in the purely dipole approximation. A satisfactory agreement with experiments is achieved.
