Abstract
Novel methods for calculating hydrodynamic behavior are used to analyze the propagation of shock waves in two-phase reacting mixtures. New data are reported on the detailed structure of shock-wave two-phase flow, and criteria are proposed to determine the conditions for the initiation of combustion, which is important for explaining the characteristic features of such flows.
