Abstract
Energies and g-factors of the ground states of a zirconium atom and its negative ion and energy of electron affinity to a neutral atom are calculated. The method used represents a combination of the superposition of configurations and the determinant perturbation theory. A satisfactory agreement is obtained between the calculated energy of electron affinity and the experimental value. This shows that the theory can provide an adequate description of complicated multielectron systems.
