Abstract

We consider the oscillations and associated resonance of an 2D optical beam under periodic and random modulations of nonlinear refractive index. For random oscillations we calculate the mean growth rate for the beam width. Analytical results are compared with the numerical simulations of the full 2D NLS equation with modulated in space coefficients.
