Abstract

This paper analyzes an experience with the use of balloon angioplasty by means of the Gruntzig catheter in patients with traumatic injuries of the subclavian artery. The surgical technique is described as is the sequence of stages the basic of which are: 1) introduction of the Gruntzig catheter and its deployment at the site of injury; 2) angiographic diagnosis of the site of injury; 3) vessel immobilization and restoration of its integrity.
