Abstract

The acoustic spectra of liquid butyl formate have been investigated in the frequency range from 0.1 to 150 MHz and at the temperatures 20 °C, 50 °C, and 80 °C. The ultrasonic spectra of pure butyl formate show a single relaxation term in the frequency range between 200 kHz and 2 MHz. The relaxation process has been assigned to the cis and trans molecular conformations.
