Abstract
Investigations on the crystal structure of Ti_ 0.76 V_ 0.24 ,Ti_ 0.51 V_ 0.49 and Ti_ 0.25 V_ 0.75 as well as their hydrides are reported in this paper. The XRD analysis and theoretic calculation indicate that these three alloys have a bbc structure, and that their pure β phase hydrides have a fcc structure. The crystal lattice parameters of the two kinds of structure are obtained.According to the investigations,it is concluded that the hydrogen absorption activity is improved compared with that of the metal vanadium, and that α phase hydride transforms into the β phase hydride when the atomic ratio of H to Ti+V is beyond 1.0.
