Abstract
Technetium-99 is one of several long-lived fission Products. The most sensitive analytical technique yet reported is isotope dilution mass spectrometry with 97Tc as the yield tracer. There is no 97Tc in the nature. This paper studies the method of 97Tc preparation.97Tc was obtained by the irradiation of 2 g of natural Ru metal in the reactor. The separation of technetium from ruthenium metal is discussed.A chemiacal separation process of alkali melting-liquid lixivation-precipitation-ionexchange chromatography and ion-association Solvent extraction is established.97Tc is demarcated by using isotope dilution mass spectrometry with 99Tc as the yield tracer.29.56 μg of 97Tc is obtained via this process.
