Abstract

Results of sintered glassceramics synthesis by using powder of cordierite glass synthesized by means of concentrated radiant flux are presented. Mullite, spinel, and aluminum titanate are used as catalysts to activate the sintering process. It is revealed that it is possible to obtain a dense crystalline material with zero water absorption only if aluminum titanate is introduced into cordierite glass.
