A preliminary discussion on cultivation technique of long root-seedling with low cost for Ulmus pumila

Abstract

To reduce the cost,the original PVC tube and light media on market were replaced with plastic breeding-bag and composted substrate of poplar leaf and corn stalk to breed long root-seedling of Ulmus pumila.The effectiveness and cost were also compared in this paper.The results showed that: using of plastic breeding-bag and composted substrate of poplar leaf and corn stalk could meet the demand of cultivation of the long root-seedling,which was comparable to the original PVC tube with light media on market.The cost could also be reduced by 66.7% for the cultivation of long root-seedling.
