Researches on breeding of ornamental tropical orchid

Abstract

Ornamental tropical orchid is famous for its large flowers,great variety color,long florescence time,and is extensively applied to cut-flower,pot-flower,gift-flower,corsage,bouquet,wreath,catering,and so on.Tropical orchid industry is vital in intertropical agriculture,and is one of the most energetic agricultural industry both at home and abroad.Breeding of excellent varieties is crucial for tropical orchid industry.Germplasm resources distribution and utilization,main genetics and breeding objective,main breeding approach to new ornamental tropical orchid were analyzed in this paper,to provide refrence for breeding and producting practice.
