RENAL NEEDLE BIOPSY: ANALYSIS OF 1071 CASES
Abstract
Objective To analyze the pathologic types of renal needle biopsy(RNB) and their epidemiological characteristics. Methods This study consisted of 1 071 samples of RNB stained by HE,histochemical-and immunohistostaining, which were observed under a light microscope, and some by electron microscope.Integrating with clinical information, each type of nephritis was summed up and analyzed in terms of their distribution and pathologic features. Results In this study, primary glomerulonephritis(PGN) was noted in 795(74.22%) cases, followed by 258(24.08%) secondary glomerulonephritis(SGN),nine(0.84%) tubulointerstitial nephritis,two(0.19%) heredity nephrosis, and one(0.09%) goodpasture syndrome. The diagnosis was unable to confirm in six due to too few of kidney glomerulus.Mesangioproliferative nephritis was the most commonly seen PGN,membranous nephropathy the next.Lupus nephritis was the mostly observed in SGN.The highest incidence was noted in age group of 21-30,accounting for 23.89%(256 cases),followed by 31-40(234). Conclusion In renal diseases, the most frequently seen is mesangioproliferative nephritis in PGN,young and middle-aged people are mostly affected.
