Medium screen for containerized seedlings raising of Keteleeria fortunei var. cyclolepis
Abstract
In order to screen the suitable medium for containerized seedlings raising of Keteleeria fortunei var. cyclolepis,coconut husk,peat soil,pond silt,superphosphate and calcium magnesium phosphate were mixed with clean yellow soil by different proportion of volume,which was generally used as medium of containerized seedlings in South China. The results showed that the seedling growth was influenced significantly by the medium components and proportion. Based on a comprehensive analysis on the main growth indexes including height,basal diameter,root diameter,survival ratio and biomass of the seedlings,the suitable medium had been screened,the better volume ratio of the combination was with yellow soil( 66. 7%) and coconut husk( 33. 3%),followed by the combination of yellow soil( 50%) plus coconut husk( 50%),and the mixture of yellow soil( 80%) plus pond silt( 80%).
