Abstract

[Objective] To explore the possibility of Aonidiella inornata Mackenzi as intermediate host of natural enemy of Diaspididae. [Method]Propagation material screening and temperature effects experiments were conducted. [Result]Experimental results showed that, the effect of propagating A. inornata with the sweet potato was not ideal. However, the fixed rate, survival rate, fecundity per female and duration parameters were not significantly different with pumpkin or potato rearing the A. inornata, which indicated that the effect of such two materials propagating A. inornata was the same. The fixed rate, survival rate and fecundity per female increased with the raise of temperature, and then decreased with the fall of temperature after reaching the maximum temperature of 25 ℃. The duration was shortened with the increase of the temperature. Therefore,25 ℃ was the optimal temperature for feeding the A. inornata. [Conclusion] Aonidiella inornata wasn't the optimal intermediate host of natural enemy of Diaspididae.
