Determination of Life Force in Michelia macclurei seeds with Different Storage Treatments by TTC Testing Method

Abstract

In order to find the effective methods for storage of Michelia macclurei seeds,12 sets of storage treatments were tested in three temperature conditions. Through the use of TTC testing method( 2,3,5-Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride,TTC) for 5 months,the life force of Michelia macclurei seeds in different storage treatments was determined. The results of TTC method for the determination of Michelia macclurei storage in 12 treatments showed that life force in treatment h( sealed refrigerated storage by plastic bottle) was the highest. Through cluster analysis,the treatments of h and g( sealed storage at room temperature by plastic bottle) were effective methods for daily storage of Michelia macclurei seeds.
