Abstract

Here we investigate the influence that the metaphysics of light and the discussions on the nature of light had on Dante Alighieri's thought and works. In particular, we will evidence the links between Dante and Robert Grosseteste, English statesman, philosopher and scientist, that Alistair Cameron Crombie defined as the real founder of the tradition of scientific thought in Oxford
