Abstract
This chapter examines the growth of coffee cultivation in Dak Lak province, the economic efficiency and profitability of this crop, and the reasons for the uncontrolled growth of coffee cultivation. Also examined are the side effects of increased coffee production in Dak Lak, including immigration, deforestation, and the lack of arable land for indigenous minority groups. The government's plans to control the growth of coffee cultivation are then outlined.
