Abstract The Ancient Chorasmian “long wall” of Dévkesken, part of a larger complex situated on a projection of the semi-arid Ustyurt Plateau in today’s Karakalpakstan, is discussed in this paper in light of similar defensive barriers erected in pre-Islamic Central Asia.
