Abstract

The article is devoted to the famous Russian literary critic, editor, theoretician, literary historian of the 20th century Vyacheslav Pavlovich Polonsky, who made a significant contribution to the development of literary criticism of the last century. The article examines the reasons that made V.Polonsky use pseudonyms, special attention is paid to the unknown pseudonym Ariel.
