Abstract
The article discusses certain issues related to the concept of hydromechanical pressure. Namely: about the resistance of the liquid to stretching; a more rational definition of the concepts of hydrostatic and hydromechanical pressures; the stress state of a stationary and moving fluid; on the limited use of the “Newton’s formula”, given that liquids may have some abnormal properties, it is proposed in certain cases to use the Shvedov-Bengam, Oswald-de-Valle or Maxwell models.
