PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND TEXTURE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CARRIER AND CATALYSTS
Abstract
Adsorption of benzene and water vapour before and after acid activation was studied using the BET method. to determine the porous structural characteristics of HSZ derived from bentonite. The adsorption of benzene and water vapour was measured in a vacuum adsorption device using Mc. Ben's quartz scales. Based on adsorption-desorption isotherms, the capacity of the monolayer, the proportion of non-desorbed adsorbate, as well as the specific surface area of the adsorbent for water and benzene vapours were determined. The textural characteristics of H-bentonite and HSZ were determined as follows: Ssol = 72.0 and 170.0 m2/g; and 0.178 cm3/g (V = 0.26 on water adsorption); dporosity= 50 and 80Å; the distance between the planes d001-9.8 and 17.6Å.
