Abstract

It is analyzed the deification of wheat on the basis of archaeological and written sources. The role of wheat in the lives of ancient people has been shown, based on the fact that it is a key factor in the transition of mankind to a sedentary life, the birth of civilizations. The role of wheat in the life of ancient people is shown, It is based on the fact that it is the main factor in the transition of mankind to a sedentary lifestyle, the emergence of civilizations. It is illuminated the processes of transformation of the wheat into a sacred (cult) force on the basis of material sources.
