International Experience in Integrating Science Fiction into Teaching English

Abstract

The paper aims at emphasizing the role of science fiction as an effective technique for teaching English as a foreign language. Reasons for using science fiction in English classroom are stressed to reveal benefits of this literary genre to language teaching and some problems language teachers face within the area. World universities’ experience is analyzed and perspectives of implementing this technique into educational institutions of Uzbekistan is revealed.
