Abstract
To realize the role of pragmatic competence for teachers is very essential in teaching English as a foreign/second language, so choosing appropriate activities that considers not only language proficiency level but also cultural points is of paramount importance. The article below discusses pragmatic competence, causes of pragmatic failure and ways to avoid them in language teaching process
