Abstract

In this paper, an improved design of non-restoring array divider is proposed based on the promising technology of quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA). The QCA design metrics such as delay, area and complexity for this array divider are enhanced, compared to previous-best works. This is because the compactness of the ‘controlled add/subtract’ (CAS) cells is increased using a QCA cell-interaction technique. Furthermore, we use an existing CIXOR gate and full adder for the design of the array divider, depending on the technique of the cell-interaction and clock-zone-based crossover.
