Abstract

Preliminary results of temporary and climatic tests of composite fluoride antireflection coatings based on MgF2, CaF2, and AlF3 for glasses are presented. After storing the samples for 3 years under normal conditions, the adhesion and optical properties of the composite fluoride antireflection coatings on the glass did not change, and the bleaching effect was preserved. After storing the samples under normal conditions, they were subjected to field tests for 3 months after which the samples were naturally contaminated and the transmittance decreased. After washing with running water with a brush, rinsing with distilled water and drying with a stream of air, the transmittance of glass with antireflection coatings was restored to the value that the samples had before field trials.
