THE HISTORY OF THE INDUSTRIES AND CRAFTS OF SAMARKAND (of the XIX th and early XX th centuries)

Abstract

This article analyzes that the economic situation and lifestyle of the population of the Samarkand region in the second half of the XIX th and early XX th centuries. In particular, the development of such spheres as blacksmithing, carpentry and handicrafts is highlighted. It defines the actions of artisans, the goods produced by them, the raw materials used, and the place of craft in domestic and foreign trade for manufactured goods.
